Technician Dry Cow Therapy (DCT) service
Targeted DCT is a great way to manage high cell count cows and prevent clinical mastitis over the dry period, but poor technique can jeopardise how well it works. It is always disheartening when treatments don’t give the results you want, but fortunately, we are able to minimise this when it comes to drying off your cows at the end of the season.
If DCT doesn’t reduce subclinical mastitis to the expected degree, the reason is almost always poor technique at dry off.
This includes poor hygiene and poor insertion technique – usually caused by time pressure, busy staff, and a simple lack of practice.
Our technician service provides a team of skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced staff who can get the job done to the highest standard and get it done quickly, freeing up valuable time and improving dry period mastitis outcomes for your herd.
We can also provide a training visit to teach farm staff the correct technique and the high level of hygiene required to get the most success out of every tube of DCT. Contact your local clinic if you have any questions prior to drying off!
