Our Leadership Team

Franklin Vets’ 13 owners all work within the business and are committed to continuing to provide their clients with the high-quality services and innovations established by the founders of the practice.

The owners are supported by a wider leadership team (pictured above). Individual clinics all have Branch Managers with day-to-day responsibility and Regional Managers who are practising vets oversee the North, South & Hauraki regions for the large animal team.

Franklin Vets has evolved over the years to a significant size business. However, we like to think of ourselves as large enough to support but small enough to care. We know that our people are our greatest asset and we are committed to making this a great place to work for all.

Chief Executive

Franklin Vets is led by Managing Director Dr Mark Hosking. The Support Services team is lead by Chief Operating Officer Matt Williams whose team consists of Accounting Manager Jo Grigg, HR Manager Leanne Wise, Inventory Manager Julia Harrison, IT Manager Grant White, and Marketing Manager Kathryn Sim.

Mark joined Franklin Vets in 2005 after four years as a dairy veterinarian in Otorohanga and two years working with intensive dairy farms in the UK. He holds a MACVSc post grad qualification in Dairy Cattle Medicine and Production. In 2012 Mark decided to hang up his stethoscope and take over as Managing Director of Franklin Vets, after having completed a Master of Business Administration through the Waikato University.

Mark lives with his family near Te Kauwhata and when he’s not working, he enjoys most things outdoors, including mountain biking, fishing, diving and water-skiing.

Matt started with Franklin Vets in early 2021. In his role, he leads a passionate and capable Support Team across a range of function including Marketing, IT, Finance, Inventory and HR.

Matt’s previous experience has been in the People and Culture space across a number of different industries in businesses that include Vodafone, Sky City Entertainment Group, Noel Leeming Group and The Trusts.

In his spare time, Matt and his wife Bec enjoy competing in endurance multisport events and spending time with their two children Macey and Leo.

Jo hasmailto:jgrigg@fvs.co.nz been with Franklin Vets for over 20 years, initially as part of the customer services team and she now manages the accounting division of the support services team. Jo appreciates the flexibility Franklin Vets offers and has played an active role on the dairy farm her and husband Owen own while raising their two children.  Jo has seen many changes over the years at Franklin Vets, the most enjoyable constant being its people and their passion for the work they do.

Julia has a Massey University Diploma in Veterinary nursing and a background in Dairy Farming. She started with Franklin Vets in 2009 as Head Veterinary Nurse at the Pukekohe branch. After having her daughter in 2012 she returned to FVS as the Inventory Manager, in charge of purchasing and inventory systems for the Franklin Vets Group. She had her son in 2018 and outside of work, she enjoys fishing, cooking, horse riding and socialising with friends and family.

Kath has a background in corporate marketing and communications having worked at AsureQuality, MPI and in events management prior to coming to Franklin Vets in 2017. She also trained and worked as a registered nurse after leaving school. Kath grew up on a dairy farm in Karaka, her Grandfather was a vet and she loves animals so when the opportunity to work for Franklin Vets came along it seemed like a natural fit. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising with her dog, travelling and supporting her children’s many sporting pursuits.

Leanne joined Franklin Vets in 2013. She comes from a background in HR at Air New Zealand and Fletcher Building. She enjoys the people and culture of Franklin Vets and the many challenges of managing a growing workforce. Out of work hours, you will find her gardening and supporting her three daughter’s many sporting pursuits.

Grant joined Franklin vets in 2019, having spent a decade in Primary Care Health IT roles. He enjoys working with staff to help technology work for them to make their days easier. Outside of work Grant enjoys spending time with his young family or flicking through crates at record stores.
