We know that consistency of vets is important to you, and the Waitakaruru (Waitak), Kopu and Paeroa branches are run closely together to share after-hours and emergencies. Our aim is to have one lead vet and a backup vet allocated to your farm, to ensure we have a good understanding of your business and your farming goals. We know that the service we provide (and relationships that we form with our clients), is key to our ongoing success.
Our farm services team is available 24/seven. Dr Ilyse Jennens, Veterinarian leads the Waitakaruru (Waitak) team.
Ilyse joined Franklin Vets at the end of 2010 as a farm vet in Pukekohe and now leads the Waitakaruru branch of Franklin Vets. She is passionate about preventative dairy herd health and working closely with farmers to achieve their goals and improve performance. Ilyse is an InCalf adviser, a member of the cattle chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and an associate member of the NZIPIM.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors and music.
Nina’s works closely with our clients alongside the veterinary team to add value and offer practical solutions for your farming needs.
Nina was raised on a dairy farm at Puriri, near Thames, where her dad milked 450 cows. Prior to Franklin Vets, Nina worked in the rural industry for RD1 Ltd, most recently as a Technical Sales Representative. Nina lives in Ngatea with her family.
Kate has been with Franklin Vets since the Waitakaruru branch opened in 2019. She has worked previously in administration and customer service and also has an extensive farming background having grown up on a farm, been a 50/50 sharemilker, and spent time in various other farm roles.
When not at work, Kate enjoys spending time with family and in the outdoors.
