Comprehensive reproductive care
We offer comprehensive reproductive care for stud farms and boutique breeders, including:
• Live cover, AI (chilled & frozen), and Embryo Transfer (ET)
• Frozen semen storage
• Fertility diagnostics and treatment
• Foaling support and broodmare management.
Services available on-farm or at approved facilities.
Mare cycle & insemination timing
Mares cycle seasonally (spring to early autumn), with ovulation typically 24–48 hours before going out of season.Correct timing is key:
- Live cover - 24–48 hours before ovulation
- Chilled AI - 12 -18 hours before ovulation
- Frozen AI - 6 hours before to 6 hours after ovulation.
We use ultrasound to track ovulation and ensure precise timing.
Pre-breeding exams
Includes:- Body condition & health check
- Vulva & cervix exam
- Ultrasound of ovaries & uterus.
We’ll create a tailored breeding plan and recommend any necessary treatments.
Pregnancy scans
- Day 15–16: Confirm pregnancy, detect twins
- Day 30: Check heartbeat and development
- Day 45–60: Monitor ongoing growth.
Foaling support
We offer guidance on foaling at home vs. stud facilities, and provide:- Pre-foaling exams (1 month prior)
- Deworming, vaccinations, caslick checks
- Emergency foaling assistance.
Embryo transfer & semen storage
- ET al allows your mare to continue competing while producing a foal
- We manage donor and recipient mares
- Frozen semen storage is available for clients.
Safety first
For all reproductive exams, a safe crush is required to protect horses, handlers, and vets. We can recommend approved facilities if needed.
