Starting his career in the meat processing industry, Rameka spent six years working in the meatworks on both beef and ovine chains, progressing toward a management cadetship while completing a Bachelor of Business (BBus) in 2018. At the onset of COVID-19, he decided to pursue a long-held interest in animal health and welfare and transitioned into veterinary studies.

Graduating from Massey University in 2025, Rameka joined Franklin Vets in 2026. He enjoys being at work, whether on farm or in clinic, building relationships with farmers, and working alongside them to improve herd performance. While also meeting the great people who stop by the clinic, building connections, and supporting their pets' health and wellbeing. His professional interests include dairy cattle reproduction and lameness management, with a focus on practical, production-driven outcomes.

At home, Rameka is a husband and father of two daughters. When he’s not busy keeping up with them, he enjoys woodworking, metal fabrication, tinkering as a backyard mechanic, and honing his skills across several instruments.
