Consistency of veterinarians is important to us. Our aim is to have one lead vet and a backup vet allocated to your farm to ensure we have a good understanding of your business and your farming goals. The service we provide and relationships that we form with our clients, is the key to our ongoing success.
Companion Animal Services
We can now offer you complete veterinary care for your much-loved pets, including an after hours service.
Our farm services are available 24/seven. Greg Lindsay, Director & Veterinarian leads a team of dairy, lifestyle and equine vets.
Dr Greg Lindsay
BVSc (Director & Veterinarian)
Greg graduated from Massey University in 2008. His enthusiasm, practical skills and knowledge have seen him become a prominent dairy veterinarian in the North Waikato region. Greg thoroughly enjoys engaging with dairy farming businesses at all levels but his particular interest is in assisting farmers with their decision making around herd reproduction and nutrition.
In his spare time Greg can be found with his family or bobbing around the coastline, fishing or spear-fishing from his kayak.
Dr Dan Alexander
Dan qualified in South Africa In 2013. He started off in mixed practice with a dairy and equine focus and spent the last year and a half in the UK mostly working with companion animals.
Dan and his wife, Lezaan, brought their dog and four cats to NZ. They enjoy all of the outdoors but especially the mountains – on foot or on a bike.
Dr Marc Herrmann
Marc grew up between Morrinsville and Cambridge and graduated from Massey in 2018 before starting in Kopu early in 2019. He is interested in working with all animals and farming types.
Outside of work Marc enjoys a wide range of sports including triathlons, mountain biking, golf, surfing and spearfishing. The Coromandel is going to be a great playground for him!

Karen looks after our Kopu customers from Wednesday to Friday.
She has lived on the Hauraki Plains all her life and has share-milked with her husband for 20 years. Karen came from a banking career of 30 years, and she enjoys the different challenges she comes across since joining the team at Franklin Vets.
Michelle looks after our Kopu customers from Monday to Wednesday.
She has come from a farming background of approx. 40 years and was full-time hands on for 20 years. She and her husband sold their farm at Pipiroa in 2013 due to husband needing both knee replacements.
Michelle is currently living on the 35acre run-off block where they rear beefies or/grazing/silage. She has missed the animals and so is really enjoying working at Franklin Vets.
